Uncharted Territory! PDF Print E-mail

For the past year, massive shifts in American culture have been taking place. For instance, our financial system will never be the same. The cultural shift has also occurred within the PCUSA. We have had a number of evangelical churches "shift" completely out of the denomination. The votes on maintaining our ordination standards have gotten closer and closer. And it feels as if there is a sense of helplessness within the evangelical community within the PCUSA. We've watched the implosion of the Episcopal church (ECUSA) and now the Lutheran church (ELCA). The old strategies do not seem to be holding us together and the vision for a renewed Presbyterian Church USA seems more faded then ever.

There is a sense that we are moving into uncharted territory. The cultural landscape has profoundly shifted. So what are we to do as evangelicals within the PCUSA?  How are we to find our way?  The viable answer that I see is that ,above all, we have got to come together as Presbyterians who hold to an orthodox understanding of God's Word.

Evangelicals must not be splintered as we engage in transformation of the PCUSA and in the communities where God has placed us. Those of us who are initiating the Biblical Presbyterian Network have a vision for a unified fellowship of evangelicals within the Presbyterian Church USA. We have a vision for coming together and engaging the PCUSA in transformation through the Word of God and through the work of the Holy Spirit.  Read what we are all about and consider joining us as an individual or as a church. Let's see if God might do a powerful work through a unified movement of evangelical pastors and churches within the PCUSA.

Newsflash

On May 9th, the moderators of the BPN issued a Call for Prayer and Fasting.   This call is asking all churches in the PCUSA to pray and fast so that the General Assembly will seek biblical faithfulness in its deliberations on the many issues facing the denomination, such as the definition of marriage, the place of the
nation of Israel in the world and ethical standards for ordained church officers.

As we begin the process of forming the Biblical Presbyterian Network, we ask that you join us by registering here on our website.     Then look over the member list to find others in your area to connect to.    Connecting to them is as easy as reviewing their profile, clicking on the Connections button, then selecting the Request Connection selection. In this way, you can form your own regional network of Biblical Presbyterians.
